The Auréo intercommunal aquatic center is the biggest project ever undertaken by Bayeux Intercom, the result of numerous requests and needs in the region.
Despite the operating costs of this type of facility, the growing budgetary pressures on local authorities and the changing patterns of facility use, providing a quality public service for all is an absolute priority for Bayeux Intercom.
Bayeux Intercom has taken the ambitious and courageous decision to manage the structure directly, enabling its complete management and ensuring its public service mission by providing:
extended opening hours;
numerous slots for schools and clubs;
affordable, controlled rates.
The center employs 17 full-time staff, responsible for reception, supervision, management, etc.

The Auréo intercommunal aquatic center was built on the site of the former municipal swimming pool, and has kept the same address. But that’s about it!
The aquatic center’s changing rooms are divided into 3 sections:
a central area including the beauty area (hair dryer and mirrors) and the shoe removal area;
separate changing rooms for users going to the balneotherapy area;
group changing rooms for clubs and schools
The leisure pool also includes a dedicated area for swimming lessons with a 12.5-metre-long water lane, as well as a leisure area accessible to all. The paddling pool is designed for very young children and toddlers, with water jets and games, all on a thin film of water.
Le bassin sportif de 25 mètres est doté de 5 lignes d’eau pour les nageurs, les scolaires et les clubs. Le bassin est également adapté pour la pratique de la plongée en club avec une profondeur maximale de 3 mètres.
75 metres of sliding fun for young and old! The walls of the slide are coloured and open to the outside light, creating a stroboscopic effect on the way down. The slide ends in a specially designed pool for maximum safety and optimal braking in the water. Enjoy the ride!
The wellness center features a balneotherapy pool with hydromassage jets and water swans, two hammams at different temperatures, two saunas, a Jacuzzi and a cold bath.
It also features a “salt grotto”, one of the first in the region, highly recommended for those with respiratory or skin problems.
The wellness center has direct access to the solarium and is complemented by a Japanese-style garden. An invitation to unwind in a calm, relaxing atmosphere!
This 25-meter pool features a water line, as well as a leisure area. Heated to 28° all year round, it is popular with swimmers in winter thanks to the contrast between the water temperature and that outside. It is covered at night for safety, cleanliness and energy reasons.
